Xencelabs at “Autodesk Hits Portland” Event

12/22/2023

Over 300 professionals from a variety of disciplines – animation, game development, visual effects, and industrial design – gathered at OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) in Portland on November 30th for the annual “Autodesk Hits Portland” event. The evening event gives professional content creators from the Portland metro area an opportunity to explore how Autodesk is collaborating with technology partners to bring more efficiency and productivity to those in the creative space.

Autodesk kicked off the evening with appetizers and drinks to give people a chance to mingle with industry peers. Xencelabs, along with other Autodesk partners, had a table to show its family of Pen Tablets and its new Pen Display 24. Dozens of attendees were able to demo Xencelabs gear and have their questions answered by Xencelabs employees who were at the event. The compliments were flowing, and it is always nice to meet new people who are interested in learning more about Xencelabs’ offerings.

Next, attendees were ushered into OMSI’s amazing IMAX theater for the second half of the proceeding. The talented team from ShadowMachine, the local studio who produced Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio, warmed up the theater with an amazing presentation on the making of the film. The Autodesk software teams, the evening’s main event, presented next with the upcoming new product solutions and capabilities for 2024 in Maya, 3ds Max, Arnold, Bitfrost, Moxion and ShotGrid. It was clear that Autodesk is working hard to deliver advanced applications to creative professionals that are user-friendly and packed with features focused on productivity.

Autodesk Hits Portland wouldn’t be the hit it is without some prizes to give away at the end of a long evening. Like years prior, they did not disappoint. Xencelabs and other partners – Silverdraft Computing, AMD, KitBash, 3DConnexion and 3DV – provided some great prizes. Congratulations to Carson McCain of Keiwit for taking home the Xencelabs Pen Tablet Medium Bundle.

Thanks again to Autodesk, its partners and all the attendees for another spectacular event. We are already looking forward to next year!
